 The Brooklyn Tunnel was the first highway tunnel in the state of Kentucky, and carried U.S. Route 68 immediately north of the Brooklyn Bridge adjacent to the Kentucky River. The tunnel was abandoned in 1954 when a new river crossing was constructed. |
